Channel Categories
According to Favoree‘s annual data report, sports-themed channels constitute 3% of the active YouTube channels in the US in 2024, while gaming channels claim a significant 16%.
Music channels represent 13% of the total in the US.
“People & Blogs” and “Entertainment” emerge as the most prevalent categories, accounting for 19% and 18% of all channels, respectively.

According to Favoree‘s annual data report, India leads globally with 1.1 million active channels (defined as those with over 10 subscribers and having posted a video in the past year), followed by the United States with 772,000 active channels.
The United Kingdom has 138K active channels on YouTube whereas France can boast 93K.
There are in total 8.9 million active channels on YouTube.
